Our vision is close to being complete. Soon we'll have our CRR Reviews back, linked to our online Classic Romance Resource Library and, of course, our all-new social networking site, linked to Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Linkedin.
I confess, it's been a mammoth undertaking for one with no formal training in website creation, and what you currently see are simply the bare bones. The real wings are yet to come, and I simply don't possess the kind of magic to make that happen. I have the big piture: a place where readers of classic romance can hang out, build relationships, get to know existing and new authors and publishers, find reviews and find books without having to leave the site. Think a bit of Goodreads with a bit of Facebook - best of all worlds, really. But it's time to call in the cavalry - or the wizards in this case.
We're stuck in the middle of making our new wings. Creating a romance resource library combined community site requires a substantial customization, and that requires a substantial budget which, as a "non-profit" site, we do not have. If you would like to assist, please use the link below. If you cannot spare a couple of dollars, please help by spreading the news. Our Twitter #tag is: #CRRysalis.
Thank you! We look forward to getting to know you here at CRRysalis at CRR.
CRR is currently undergoing a metamorphosis - we're changing to meet the demand for comminity based resources and interaction, and will soon be able to offer the CRRysalis at CRR community network, together with an online library resource (listing, not lending) to make finding your favorite Classic Romance novels a fun social experience.
Some things won't change, like the official CRR Reviews which will be back soon, due to popular demand. Review requests will be accepted, providing that they meet the CRR Heat Ratings (see below) as soon as the site is officially reopened. We will accept requests in the following genres: Romance Anthology, Christian Romance, Romantic Comedy, Contemporary Romance, Fantasy Romance, Futuristic Romance, Gothic Romance, Historical Romance, Inspirational Romance, Mainstream Romance, Mystery Romance, Paranormal Romance, Regency Romance, SciFi Romance, Speculative Romance, Steampunk Romance, Romantic Suspense, Time Travel Romance, Urban Fantasy Romance, Western Romance, Young Adult Romance.
Please be patient just a little while longer... we'll be spreading our new wings just as soon as they are dry!
If you''re looking for Real Romance with HeaRt, then you''ve come to the right place. We specialize in the sweet, the sensual and the sophisticated, and our aim is to create a place for readers, writer and publishers to celebrate the Classic Romantic values of commitment, integrity... and, of course, Happily Ever After.
While we have the utmost respect for others who do not subscribe to our preferences, we also feel we need to be clear and transparent about what we stand for, and what you can expect from this site and any others that are part of our Revival. Because our focus is on traditional romance, you will not find any erotic or menage romance, homosexual, bi-sexual or transgender romances. While we do have some authors within our group who write in these genres, they are wholly comfortable with the understanding that Classic Romance Revival does not permit promotion of these books, either directly or indirectly.
We are fortunate to have a wide diversity of authors affiliated with the group, and are able to offer a full spectrum of romance genres encompassing contemporary, broad historical, western, fantasy, time travel, regency… To simplify things, all our work is “heat-rated” according to three basic categories, Sweet, Sensual and Sophisticated.
Sweet Romance - This denotes gentle romance, with no sensual or sexual overtones or intimacy, either literal or implied.
Sensual Romance - In this category you will find more intense romance, with a strong sensual exploration and greater intimacy; total intimacy may be implied but is not described.
Sophisticated Romance - This may contain intimately explicit scenes, providing that: a) these are handled with sensitivity and are not graphically descriptive; b) scenes do not use language or description that lie within the erotic domain; c) the inclusion of the scene is essential to the storyline and is not included simply for the sake of sensationalism; d) intimacy occurs within the context of classic romance values, i.e. commitment, loyalty, love and happily ever after (either stated or implied).
